greylock partners

Greylock Partners, based in Menlo Park, is an industry leader with over 50 years of investing in some of the most well-known technology brands in the world. In opening a location in San Francisco, Greylock requested a space that could host a number of needs to support their teams’ abilities to partner with entrepreneurs in the booming tech hub of SOMA. This office is unique in that it is 100% drop-in, housing desks, and meeting spaces, or allowing a coffee break before heading to a nearby opportunity.

In addition to supporting day-to-day business activities, the space provides additional open desks for incubator companies to use as they get off the ground. With no dedicated reception, the design centers on the lounge and conference suite, providing a variety of spaces for various meeting needs. Flexibility was key in allowing the office to transform to a single large event space that can spill into the street with two front garage doors, or carry into a private courtyard in back. Using both refined materials and rough, exposed brick, wood, and concrete, the design purposely blends formal and casual in an architectural language that projects both Greylock’s brand and the familiar offices of its many nearby partner tech companies.
