splunk tysons corner

Our second project with Splunk was to design their sales office in Tysons Corner, Virginia, just outside Washington, DC. The story of the sales team involves government clients, and we built off a photo of the presidential limousine with the Obamas sitting inside. The look of the office riffs on that, with dark wood, leather, and subtle contrasts of the purple gloves Michelle Obama is wearing in the photo–a stately design that befits the DC culture, with young and edgy details from the West Coast. To tie together the Splunk theme, we appropriated elements from the Seattle design, adapting them to the DC color palette and overall look. The popular break area is an all-hands area with smaller booths for quiet time. The sales team also needed a large training room and specialized acoustic design. In the spirit of the national government, we designed a secret safe room that you can’t see but those in the know can use. The conference room takes advantage of views to the downtown skyline, in case anyone forgets where they are.
