Plan spatial experiences and develop concepts of interior environments that incorporate lighting solutions and technically complex construction and design projects, with a focus in corporate and commercial interior spaces. Establish creative, technical and strategic design direction and project-specific requirements by interfacing directly with clients, stakeholders, allied design professionals and consultants to incorporate client’s goals and objectives, while working closely with permitting officials. Lead visioning efforts with C-suite clients. Engage in data collection to evaluate, assess and document user requirements and communicate the findings to the broader design and construction team, to ensure proper execution of the project. Develop construction drawings and specifications including specific lighting and power requirements, as well as architectural materials and furnishings specifications including light fixtures using Building Information Modeling (BIM) including, but not limited to, Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape and AGi32. Prepare detailed code reviews of architectural plans for safety and ADA requirements. Ensure projects comply with applicable CA building codes and regulations. Conduct Quality assurance (QA) reviews on contract document deliverables prepared by interior and architectural team, and consultants.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in interior design, interior architecture, or related field.
Experience and Skill Requirements
Requires two years of commercial tenant improvement design experience. Must also possess coursework or experience background with California and ADA Accessibility Standard codes; lighting technology, luminaries and artificial light output calculations; California Commercial Building & Lighting Control Systems; California Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards; technical Architectural & Construction Specifications; and Building Information Modeling (BIM) including Revit, Enscape, AutoCAD and AGi32.
